Long Orchard House
Long Orchard House is pleasantly situated 2 minutes walk from the attractive centre of Somerton, the ancient capital of Wessex.

Whether on business or pleasure, a warm welcome awaits all our guests.

We have 1 large double room, which is ensuite, with lovely views across the gardens and pond. It can easily be turned into a triple family room. Next to this is a twin room with a private bathroom across the hall. These 2 rooms are in an annexe with their own private entrance.

A self service breakfast of cereals and toast is included in the price, however there are a number of pubs and cafes serving full English breakfast, all within a 5 minute walk and all recommended!

Guests have their own shower and television. All guests have use of an adjoining breakfast room with refrigerator and microwave cooker, ironing board and hair dryers available.

Amenities within the town are excellent, offering specialist shops, restaurant, pubs and take-away.

Somerton is an ideal base for touring the fascinating county of Somerset.

Popular attractions such as Wells Cathedral, Glastonbury Abbey, Wookey Hole, Cheddar Caves, Yeovilton Museum and the Haynes Motor Museum are all within easy access. The cities of Bath and Bristol and the coastal towns of Weston-Super-Mare, Burnham-on-Sea, Lyme Regis and Weymouth are all less than an hours drive away. For those interested in fishing there are the Somerton Viaduct Fisheries only 10 minutes walk from the house.

Somerton is within easy reach, only ½ hour from M5 junction 23 and only 3 miles from the A303 main south west route.

We also offer Monday to Friday accommodation for people working in the area. Contact us for rates.

When I arrived at the B&B there was no one to greet me, there was a note on the front door to tell me to let myself in. As there was no light i was struggling with a case an umbrella and my phone light to read the message. I found my way to the annex, it was dark and freezing cold. I went to the chinese restaurant to buy some food and took it back to the B&B but there was not a plate to put it on or anything to re heat the food in the microwave - the food was in a foil container. Sitting in the kitchen area was so cold that I could see my breadth. I finished my meal and went to bed at 7.30 because of the cold. The sheet smelled of dirty hair and must, they were also about 20 or more years old. The heating then went off at 10.00pm and came back on at 7.00am. The owner finally came to greet me and to find out if i was comfortable at 9.30am, she had expected me to go to find her!!! I did explain that I was very cold and all she said was that the heating was on. I didnt explain that I cou

Fantastic accommodation and welcome. If the weather had been sunnier, however, we would have appreciated some thicker curtains to keep the light out in the morning.

Lovely spot, great room, really well cared for by the owners who cooked a fine breakfast each morning. Long Orchard is walking distance from some fine pubs in Somerton serving excellent food. Well recommended spot to stay.

It is hard to find the place as there is no street sign called station path. Once you are there it is a great place to stay. It had a great view from the room and a beautiful garden to relax. Carol looked after us very well.
