The Parish of Morwenstow on the North Cornwall coast is an area of outstanding natural beauty. Sandy beaches, rocky coves and impressive cliffs are all close by.
Jan and Paul Hudson look forward to welcoming you to Little Bryaton, a lovely detached 17th century farmhouse. It is not far from the coast and is approached along a private lane, four hundred yards long, providing a tranquil and peaceful setting. As you drive or walk towards the house you are likely to be accompanied along the lane by a charm of chattering goldfinches. If you approach on foot you may see a woodcock or snipe rise from the long grass alongside the fence or a buzzard sitting on a post looking for its next meal.
Within one mile of Little Bryaton are the historic village church, made famous by Victorian poet and local eccentric, Parson Hawker; the local Inn and restaurant, dating back to 950AD; the 13th century Tea Rooms and the Post Office/General Stores. Jan and Paul offer bed and breakfast accommodation which they feel will appeal particularly to those who appreciate the natural beauty of this lovely old house and the peace and quiet it offers.
If you enjoy walking then take the Heritage Trail running along the coastline or make your way over the many footpaths, cliff or moorland walks in the area. Bodmin Moor, Dartmoor, Exmoor and The Eden Project are all within easy driving distance and just waiting to be explored. Maybe you would prefer one of the many local circular walks from Little Bryaton compiled by Paul. Sample our local history or even delve into the folklore and mythology of this ancient land.
Those interested in sea-angling and coarse or game fishing are well catered for and we have a huge range of water sports available on the local beaches and the nearby Tamar Lakes. This area is equipped with a number of local golf courses and Little Bryaton is close to the village riding stables.
For those who enjoy shopping Bude, Barnstaple, Truro, Plymouth, Exeter and the nearby fully air-conditioned Atlantic Village are all waiting to welcome you.
The excellent accommodation available at Little Bryaton includes:
Two double bedrooms with en suite bathrooms, one with the option of a super-king size double bed or twin beds.
All rooms with central heating, colour televisions, tea & coffee-making facilities & hairdryers.
Sit and relax in your own comfortably furnished conservatory overlooking the lawns and gardens with views of the surrounding peaceful countryside.
Be assured, we will do all we can to make your stay as comfortable, interesting and enjoyable as possible.
Jan will provide you with a splendid breakfast in our beamed Library Dining Room and she is happy to cater for all your needs. A variety of local produce is available depending on the season. Enjoy our log fires in winter.
We look forward to hearing from you and would suggest that you make your booking early to be sure of availability. Please telephone or email us for a firm quotation.
