Welcome to Langdale View Guest House, one of the older mid-19th C properties in Bowness with its own private carpark, quietly situated looking across to the Langdale Pikes. Centrally located yet secluded, ideally situated for walking, shopping, restaurants, tours, cinema and just a short 5 -10 min stroll to the shores of Lake Windermere. Bowness-on-Windermere is the ideal base for a holiday in the Lake District, with easy access to the rest of Lakeland, The whole of the North West of England and Scotland.
The steamer from Bowness takes you north to Ambleside or south to Lakeside and the Haverthwaite Steam Railway. There is also the car ferry across the lake for a quiet walk or drive to Hawkshead, home of Beatrix Potter, Coniston and beyond. Walking, climbing, sailing or just enjoying the scenery with a gentle stroll, there is something for everyone
Our double rooms are en-suite and fully equipped with a well stocked hospitality tray , fluffy white towels, plasma screen TV, hairdryer, shaver point, and have individually controlled central heating. For special occasions, we can arrange flowers, wine or champagne and chocolates in your room. Please ask at time of booking.
We serve an extensive breakfast menu including full English cooked breakfast, pancakes with fruit and maple syrup amongst other choices, in our dinning room overlooking the garden. Breakfast is served from 8.30 - 9.15 am but earlier times can be arranged on enquiry. We are happy to supply a packed lunch at a charge of £5.00 and will fill flasks on request free of charge.
Check in is 3.30 - 7.30 although we will try to accommodate other times if pre arranged. Check out is 10.30 am.

By car, from Windermere Village, drive south on the A5074 towards the Lake. You will see the Co-op village store on the right hand side. Opposite is Helm Road. Drive up Helm Road for 100 yds then turn left into Craig Walk (single track lane). Langdale View is 100 yds along Craig Walk on the left. Craig Walk has a concrete bollard part way along preventing through traffic. If you are arriving by car and have satellite navigation it is likely to direct you to the wrong side of this bollard. To get to our car park you need to drive in from the Helm Road end of Craig Walk. Please click here to see a map with an arrow pointing at our location.
