Lamberden House
Margie and Julian Croysdill offer a warm welcome in their spacious and beautifully furnished Kentish Oast Barn which, being on the highest point in the Weald, has outstanding views over the surrounding countryside (including a restored Windmill) The comfortable accommodation with a peaceful relaxed atmosphere is ideally based to explore the many historic and beautiful gardens and other attractions of Kent and Sussex.

Margie is a passionate gardener/garden lover and the beautiful garden that she and Julian have created at Lamberden is a joy of colour and scent. They both have a lifelong local knowledge and willingly advise on the best places to visit. The ETC inspected the premises in 2001 and awarded a 4-diamond rating. Since then Margie and Julian have constantly upgraded the rooms to a significantly higher standard.

Following an award of a four star rating Margie and Julian continue vigorously to upgrade the rooms and garden to significantly higher levels. The accommodation and facilities comprise: Two large double bedrooms, each with comfortable king-size beds (1 en-suite, one with private bathroom), one large twin bedded room, each of these rooms can have another single bed added, if required, TV, video, coffee and a selection of teas are available in all rooms, swimming pool, evening meals by prior arrangement, fresh organically-grown vegetables and herbs from our garden, fresh organic eggs from our own chickens, open all year (except Christmas).

Very nice house, and extremely nice breakfast. However, plans changed... and even with more than a day's notice of needing to move the last of 3 days, they insisted we still pay L80 (50%) even though the house was empty at the time. They don't take credit cards, so paying to convert money for their benefit when overcharging was upsetting. I've learned now that sticking with Inns is MUCH nicer in England... more amenities, and more customer graces (like "clear policies", for starters).

Entirely pleasant and comfortable, peaceful environement. The hospitality extended toward our group by Julian and Margie was exceptional, showing special consideration to one of our group with a special diet, and offering to collect us during a thunderstorm-we chose to get wet and count the gloworms! A beautiful place from which to explore the surrounding countryside. Well done.
