Kirkland House Bed And Breakfast, Moffat

Situated at the end of a short private drive, Kirkland House offers visitors the rare chance to relax and unwind in beautiful, peaceful surroundings. The house was originally the manse to the Well Road Church (which has now become the town's theatre). It is now a comfortable family home which, being a listed building, has many fine features including a fine pitch pine staircase and detailed staircase window - it's design being based on birds.

Kirkland also offers a large garden, which is quiet and secluded, having a summer house and numerous benches and seats for the pleasure of our guests. We offer central heating throughout the house. All bedrooms are either en suite or have private facilities. Each room has colour television, fan, tea/ coffee making facilities, electric blankets, heater, hairdryer, etc.The lounge is a pleasant bay windowed room where guests are given refreshment upon arrival.

Established in the Eighteenth Century as a health resort made popular by the Victorians, pride has been taken to restore its character. In recent years it has won many awards for its attractive floral décor. This is especially noticeable within Station Park, which also contains the Boating Lake, Putting Green and "Moffatasia" - a children's water feature. In and around Moffat there are varied leisure activities including bowls, tennis, golf, horse riding fishing and hill walking. The hills around Moffat offer a range of walks for varying abilities. The Southern Upland Way lies within one mile of the town.

If you are travelling North or South on the A74 take the exit for Moffat. From the High Street, turn into Well Street between McGarry's and Wallace the Butcher's. AT the end of Well Street turn right at the cross roads into Well Road, continue for approximately 50 metres and look for the sign Kirkland House. Turn left through the wrought iron gates into the drive, continue for 50 metres and you will find Kirkland House and its warm welcome awaiting you. If you are travelling from Edinburgh on the A701, Well Street will be on your left as you go down the High Street.
