A former seventeenth century coaching inn situated at the foot of Helvellyn in the heart of The Lake District, The Kings Head is surrounded by spectacular scenery with unsurpassed views toward St Johns in the Vale, Blencathra and Skiddaw. We offer seventeen en suite bedrooms comprising of doubles, twins, single and family rooms, all with views of the surrounding fells.
The Kings Head offers two unique dining experiences, both offering Traditional English dishes and local specialties created from the finest local produce. In our award winning St Johns restaurant, our Head Chef presents a creative four course seasonal menu, whilst in our recently refurbished Bar Restaurant we serve a range of traditional favourites. Our bar offers local real ales, fine wines and a range of malt whiskies.
New for 2006, The Kings Head now boasts a Lakeland Produce Store offering a wide range of local food, drinks and gifts from the finest Cumbrian producers.
