J D Young Hotel
J. D. Young Hotel is a 15th century Coaching Inn, formerly known as the Magpie Hotel. It was sympathetically restored in 1999 having been left to deteriorate during the preceding 15 years, and the refurbishment's have been completed to a very high standard.

The whole building has a wonderful air of luxury with walls warmly paneled in oak or papered in rich colours, a wealth of interesting and colourful oil paintings and glowing table lamps. Furnished with interesting and highly polished items, each room is different in décor and atmosphere. The Hotel’s Car Parking is situated at the rear of the building and access can be gained from London Road.

All rooms have a double bed, and can be used for either double or single occupancy. There are TV and Sky TV facilities and the direct dial telephone has a digital clock and radio and there are extra telephone and power points for use with laptop computers. A trouser press and hair dryer are also provided as are tea and coffee making facilities. The larger Luxury bedrooms are also furnished with desks and armchairs.

All the bedrooms have en suite bathrooms which consist of W.C. bath, shower, and hand basin. There are shaver points and shaver lights in every bathroom and complimentary soap, shower gel, shampoo and conditioner are provided. The rooms are finished to a high standard, with style and a warm feeling of luxury. Room service is available for a small extra charge.

When dining in our restaurant you will experience a warm and tranquil atmosphere with friendly and professional staff. Our luxurious dining area has the right ambience for any occasion from birthday’s to wedding’s or simply a night out for fantastic food accompanied by first class service.

For a hearty breakfast, lunch, high tea or evening meal we can accommodate, or if you just feel like a rich Italian coffee by our roaring fire while reading from our extensive collections of literature we would be just as pleased to have your company.

We use only the best quality handpicked seasonal vegetables from local producers to create truly mouth watering cuisine, cooked to your preference. All dietary requirements are catered for in our A La Carte Menus whether diabetic, gluten free or vegetarian.
