We are situated just a few minutes stroll from the village of Bowness and the shores of Lake Windermere from there you can take a cruise to nearby both Ambleside and Lakeside with its aquarium and steam railway. Ivythwaite Lodge is an ideal base for your Lakeland holiday. From here you can strike out and see some of the most Beautiful Mountain Lake scenery in England. Visit the picturesque villages of Hawkshead and Grasmere once home to the Poet William Wordsworth, Lake Coniston with its historic Gondola and for the more energetic of you a hike up the ‘Old Man of Coniston’ just one of the many mountain and fell walks offering breathtaking views. Whether you cycle, walk or ride you are never far from the splendours the Lake District has to offer.
