Ivy House Country Hotel, Lowestoft

Down a leafy driveway beside Oulton Broad you will come across a collection of farm buildings, old and new, which have been converted into a charming small hotel. Central to the operation is The Crooked Barn, an AA. Restaurant in an 18th century barn. The emphasis is on imaginative and freshly prepared dishes, down to the home made bread, chutneys, ice-creams and puddings.

Accommodation is either in the Courtyard & Farmhouse rooms – most with views of the surrounding countryside or gardens, or in Executive Garden Rooms, more spacious and with extra luxuries. Outside you can take a stroll in the 4-acre gardens or walk to Oulton Broad and the broadside footpath. Altogether Ivy House, with its cheerful staff and unstuffy ambience, provides a breath of fresh air on the Norfolk/Suffolk border.

The Garden Suite is situated in our Executive Garden Building, a purpose built conference centre.Suitable for conferences, interviews, presentations and private dining. Can seat up to 54 delegates (Theatre Style).

The Hawthorn Suite is situated in the farmhouse with an inglenook fireplace and views across the country gardens and lily ponds. Suitable for 2 - 24 delegates. Ideal for smaller meetings, interviews, syndicate room and private dining.

Our self-catering accommodation is located 5 minutes away from the hotel. A spacious, well appointed, one bedroom second floor apartment. The bedroom has one king size bed; if required supplementary sleeping accommodation is available in the sitting-room, using either a sofa bed or a camp bed.
