Cottages. An original concept that offers an “independent” style of accommodation. Two and three bedroom cottages available a short walk from the Hotel. Contemporary design with a strong emphasis on comfort and style, but providing all aspects of a authentic home. Each cottage has 2 or 3 bedrooms, two bathrooms, fully equipped kitchen, lounge, cloakroom, private garden, patio and parking. Some of the larger cottages also have a separate office. The Restaurant. The Restaurant occupies a major part of the original Principle building dating back to the 17th century. Both the bar & restaurant have been refurbished, and although the design is stylish and contemporary, the building retains all it's period features. Where possible, locally produced foods are used in all of our dishes. Diners can choose from a varied range of English / French style cuisine, which is complemented by a list of fifty carefully selected wines.

The Bar and Terrace. 400 years after it was built, the walk-in fire place remains in it’s original condition and main focus of the bar. Sympathetically modernised & furnished with leather armchairs & sofas, the club style bar provides a relaxed & casual atmosphere. With it’s oak beams and natural slate & wood floor, the bar offers an inviting setting for a quiet drink and a wide range of fireside meals. To the front of the hotel is a raised wine terrace, one of the most trendy outside drinking and dining venues in the area. .

Setting. The Hollies is located in the delightful countryside of South Somerset in the heart of the English Cider making capital. Situated in the picturesque & historical village of Bower Hinton, Martock and just half a mile from the A303 gateway to the West Country. The hotel is set in three and a half acres of landscaped gardens and is all built from the locally quarried golden "Ham stone".
Where to Go There is a wealth of wonderful churches, abbeys and houses, intriguing Follies and classic gardens as well as the opportunity to explore the unspoilt countryside by foot, bicycle or horseback. Visit the dramatic Jurassic Coast, Exmoor National Park and Ham Hill Country Parkland and quarry. There are many local attractions and activities including museums, theatres, fishing, five golf courses, racecourse, and Cricket ground at the nearby county town of Taunton. Antique shopping can be found in Honiton, one of the renowned antique centres in the UK. Explore the outstanding natural beauty of Cheddar Gorge & caves or the Liberty Trail. Great value for the price. I actually work in a 4 star hotel in London and most of our rooms do not compare (and are more than twice the price). Only used the restaurant for breakfast which was busy, but this is not surprising considering the quality of the hotel. Well done Hollies.

Very very nice hotel. Would recommend the garden rooms if staying in the summer as you can sit on the terrace outside the room. Excellent bathroom, but I understand they are all brand new. Rooms are modern and bar / restaurant very tastefully old world.

I stayed at The Hollies for a surprise weekend away. I cannot praise this hotel enough. Staff are extremely friendly & coped admirably. The bar and restaurant are lovely with a gorgeous open fire to sit by and the food was excellent. The rooms were lovely, very clean and well equipped - and also very large with good size bathrooms. The setting of the Hollies is in a lovely village with fantastic walks around. I would recommend this hotel to all and will most certainly stay there again. I can’t believe it is only 3 star.

I wanted to have a surprise 60th birthday weekend for my husband and was looking for a hotel who could accomodate our immediate family, family from London,Scotland,Wales, Geneva,Dorset and Bristol. As everyone was travelling a good distance I was concious that it needed to be of a high standard and worth the effort. This hotel did not disappoint.
