Hawthorne Dene Hotel
We extend a warm welcome to our family-owned and run 4 star B&B Hawthorne Dene Hotel.

Once inside you can experience the elegance, charm and comfort of a bygone era. Full of interesting antiques, with old photographs and pictures adorning the walls.

There is a fine library full of many books and daily newspapers and magazines for you to peruse if you wish, and a glorious open log fire by which to enjoy and relax in the ambience of this lovely old house.

The Hawthorne Dene Hotel is situated in Falmouth, a beatiful town on the South coast of Cornwall and was built in 1899 on land that had originally been part of Arwenack Farm and the old Arwenack Manor. This in turn had passed to John Wodehouse, 1st Earl of Kimberly. From 25th March 1899 a Miss Catherine Lloyd Parsons took up the lease from the Kimberly Estate along with her parents Mr Thomas Parsons and his wife Elizabeth. He was the Inland Revenue Officer for Falmouth District. From this time it was run as a fine Boarding House and Pension. It has continued as a small Edwardian hotel of character and distinction ever since. Arguably one of the finest small hotels of the historic port of Falmouth. Just a 10 minute stroll out of the main town and only 5 minutes away from the beaches. Falmouth is Cornwall's premier marine centre steeped in the history of the Packet Boat Service, and the community of the sea.

Each of the bedrooms is furnished to a very high standard with fine comfortable beds and are full of individual character and detail. Most have fantastic sea views overlooking Falmouth's magnificent bay, with its castle, and a panorama that stretches from the Roseland to the Lizard.
