Hardicot Guest House
The Guest House is a Victorian, centrally heated detached house built in 1901. It stands in a quiet, elevated position 100 yards from the English Channel: on the edge of the attractive village of Kingsdown, and 1/2 mile from the beginning of the White Cliffs of Dover.

The spacious rooms are tastefully furnished and decorated in keeping with the period of the house. Our guests appreciate the peace and quiet, therefore no T.Vs are provided in the bed rooms, but there is a large comfortable drawing room where guests may watch T.V., read or socialise.Furthe relaxation is provided in the half-acre of mature secluded gardens.

Regretfully our facilities are not suitable for children under 10. Two bedrooms command a view of the sea, while the third overlooks 1/2 acre of secluded garden.Parking is available - garage or off-road.We are ideally situated for cliff walks, sea-fishing and golf, and as a base for exploring the varied attractions of the area.We are a non-smoking establishment, open all of the year with the exception of Christmas and New Year. Regretfully we cannot accommodate children under 5 or pets.

The area is rich in historical interest. Caeser landed here, and the remains of a Roman Castle can be seen near Sandwich. Sandwich was once an important port through which the stone from Caen was imported to build Canterbury Cathedral. This small town boasts more Mediaeval buildings per square mile than anywhere else in England.

Excellent B&B run by a very gracious couple. Exceptionally comfy room and bed (we slept over 10 hours the 1st night). Perfectly executed cooked breakfast with all the trimmings. They don't take credit cards and there is no TV in the room but they had mountains of books to choose from.
