We unfortunately found the owner disinterested in guests. We did not receive a hello or any words of welcome. Not once was we asked about our day or stay in the area. Only having a fixed one hour period to take breakfast is not guest friendly, persons on vacation do like to have a lay in occasionally. The services in the house was also poor. Although WIFI is advertised as being available throughout the house it is only available in the dinning room. The owners states they have spent 200ponds on one and that does not work. I feel they need a new technical person rather than advertise and not give a service. The TV in the room is too small. Because of the height on the wall, the size of screen and location in the room it was not watchable. The owner has said they are going to be upgraded but large TV will not be used as they dominate the room. So no change there! The electronic shower unit made a buzzing noise and could not have been pleasant for other guests in the house. We hear

The room we had was excellent and very clean. The mattresses also were very firm. The breakfasts were also very good with choice. Diana, the host was very friendly. We have stayed at Haisthorpe House several times over the years and during change of ownership. It is well placed for the town of Windermere and also Bowness. There are many good eating places. We shall no doubt be visiting again !
