Forest Side Hotel
Forest Side is an attractive, secluded Victorian stately hotel and restaurant, situated in a 40 acre wooded estate. It is located at Wordsworth's picturesque Grasmere village. home to wild deer, red squirrels and a badger set. This traditional stately home built by the Earl of Lonsdale reflects the very personal attention the owners pay to their beloved property, and has magnificent views and an unique and elegant interior. The staff make every effort to make Forest Side somewhere to relax, indulge and de-stress, and our guests return again and again.

Holding a much envied position on the lower slopes of Butter Crag, a short stroll down the sweeping private driveway from the hotel itself, lies Grasmere Village, Wordsworth's inspiration, from the creative romantic, to the serious fell walker, there is a side of Grasmere that everyone can fall in love with. Warning - you may never wish to leave!

The staff are very freindly and helpful, the hotel has great views and history, we were privilaged to see 2 deer in the grounds. The Breakfeast was excellent and plentyful. The hotel is under new management and does require a face lift in decor and furniture. Car park spaces were plentyful as Grasmere can be a wee crowded. If you go you have to visit Faeryland by the lake.

We enjoyed ourselves very much. We were surprised when we arrvived the hotel. It looked posh. The rooms were good, everything what we needed. Apart from the shower, my friend thought it was abit too small for him. they got the bar; the wines were really nice. The breakfast was excellent, especially the sausages!!. We would go back again.
