Enoch Lodge
Enoch Lodge is a Grade B listed building set in one-acre gardens. Its origins relate to the turn of the 19th century when it was an original gatehouse to Culzean Castle. The proximity to Culzean Castle makes the lodge an ideal base for visiting this National Trust Property. The Village of Maidens and the famous Turnberry Golf Courses are just four miles away. Close to the town of Ayr and to Prestwick Airport.

Enoch Lodge offers comfortable, elegant, centrally heated en-suite accommodation all on the ground floor. There is a television, hairdryer and hospitality tray in each of the three double bedrooms. There is secure parking. A travelcot is available for small babies - please request when booking. Full Scottish breakfast cooked to order or a continental option, if preferred. An early breakfast can be arranged if required.

The Lodge offers an open house policy enabling guests to make use of the sundeck and hot tub. Meals can be provided by arrangement so that guests can relax after a long journey. If preferred there is a guests' barbeque for al fresco lovers.

Fly fishing is available at nearby Mochrum Loch a short walk from the Lodge, permits can be obtained locally. Access to scenic walks are available from the rear of the Lodge which will take you to breathtaking sea views and eventually to Culzean Castle and the beach. To walk the Castle is about forty minutes away or five minutes by car. Dogs are welcome by arrangement and the use of a fully enclosed pen is available for short times during the day.

Golf is in abundance with Turnberry and Prestwick courses nearby and the Lodge makes an ideal centre to experience these venues. Turnberry is five miles away and Prestwick about ten miles from the Lodge, although there are many other courses in close proximity i.e Maybole, Brunstone Castle, Belleisle, Patna and of course Royal Troon. There are local stables nearby for horseriding on Maidens Beach.

Enoch Lodge was a pearfect choice for us. Jane and Michael are lovely hosts who make guests feel at home, provide a full choice breakfast, and are helpful in every way. They suggested Minishant Inn a we enjoyed two great dinners. We used a family-run taxi service, Hu882320.

Excellent, very comfortable bed, charming, welcoming and helpful but not intrusive hosts. Good secure off road parking and wonderful wild dog walking up wooded hill behind. Good eateries nearby for dinner. Delicous breakfast. Bedroom not huge nor shower-room - hence not 6 - but we would go back again and again.

Outstanding accommodation. A beautiful home and business run by Jane and Mike Ried. The rooms were excellent and the bed so comfortable. The whole place was set in some lovely grounds. It was a pleasure to be able to stay in such a loverly house. It is ideally located to some excellent attractions such as the famous Electric Brae and Culzeans Castle. We also visited a lovely restaurant recommended by Jane which was Wildings at Maidens, just 5 mile away and on the coast line. I wish we had more time, it is genuine people such as Jane and Mike that make anyones stay away from thier own home so welcoming and comfortable. Your hospitallity was not wasted on us. Many thanks to you both and may see you again soon. LOL Paul and Pauline - East Anglia. PS what a fab breakfast, the home made bread just topped it off. Who needs an alarm?

We, two middle aged women cyclists arrived tired and hingry. The welcome was warm and practical, the room was very comfortable, we had the feeling that the hosts had put together all the best features of any B & B or hotel they'd ever stayed in. The food that was cooked for us was of a very high standard. Altogether a delightful experience - better than home to home, the best that staying in someoneelses house can be.
