Eildon House Bed and Breakfast
Eildon House Bed and Breakfast is a beautifully restored Georgian townhouse built in 1802 and full of traditional character. We are located in the pretty town of Musselburgh just 5 miles from the heart of Edinburgh. There is an excellent bus service and we have free parking.
There are lovely walks to the nearby river, through Inveresk the oldest village in Scotland or to the local beach and harbour.
There are excellent restaurants within walking distance.
OUR ACCOMMODATION
All three guestrooms have antique furnishings and original artwork, central heating, tea/coffee trays, TV, radio and hairdryers.
Eve personally welcomes you to her home and makes every effort to ensure that you enjoy your holiday in the area with a combination of warm Scottish hospitality information and advice.
Free storage is available for motorcycles and bicycles

THE LOCAL AREA
It is just a 2 minute walk to a modern swimming pool and leisure centre. There are 27 golf courses in the local area, including the oldest Golf course in the world here in Musselburgh. There are excellent bird watching facilities, horse riding, fishing and beaches nearby. East Lothian is popular for sailing, surfing, windsurfers and the wall dive at North Berwick
Eildon House is convenient for frequent buses to Edinburgh city centre, free parking and easy access to the A1 and City Bypass for visiting Glasgow, Stirling, Fife and the Borders. "So much to see and do on our doorstep"

You can prebook a local taxi to collect you at the Airport. This is much less expensive than the airport Taxi service. Telephone Dash +440131-665-1000 to make booking and discuss collection point.
Airport bus service runs to Edinburgh City centre every 10 minutes cost 3.50 and takes 20 -30 minutes.

DIRECTIONS BY CAR
Approaching via the M9, M8, A80, A71, A70, A702, A701 and A7, join the Edinburgh City Bypass A720 driving East towards Berwick upon Tweed. Continue to the end of the A720. Take the exit at Old Craighall. Do not join the A1. There are services and a ‘Burger King’ on the left. Continue past the services to the roundabout. Take the second left signpost Musselburgh. Continue down this road until you reach the traffic lights at the ‘T’ junction. Turn right and continue along the side of the river to the second set of traffic lights. At the lights, there is a Church on the right. Turn right at the filter onto Dalrymple Loan. The road bends to the left. Newbigging is the first turn on the right (1/4 KM after the bend). Eildon is a red sandstone house 100 meters on the right.
APPROACHING VIA A1 From the A1, follow the signs for Musselburgh. There are two roundabouts. The first is signposted ‘Musselburgh’, at the second turn left following Pinkie Road for 1 mile, turn left after Grandison’s garage. Eildon is 100 yards on the right.

PUBLIC TRANSPORT / BUS OR TAXI
By Bus from Edinburgh (Check with the driver that the bus goes direct. Red Buses numbers 26 & 44 from St Andrews Square or Princes Street in Edinburgh City centre. At corner stop around the corner, Grandison’s Garage is facing, go right and then first left. Eildon is 100m on right. Red stone house.
The bus fare is 1.20 GBP and exact change is required as the drivers do not carry cash.
A Taxi from Edinburgh is about £16.00
A Taxi from the Airport about £36.00
There is an Airport Airlink bus to and from the city every 10 or 15 minutes. The fare is approx £3.30 1 way or £5.00 return.
