Dating back to the 1800's this is the largest hotel in North Devon with 125 comfort design rooms and suites fully equipped to high standards.

Overlooking the Estuary, the hotel is superbly situated for exploring the magnificent coastline, spectacular sandy beaches and many unspoilt fishing villages in and around Devon and Cornwall. We are minutes from westward ho! & Instow beaches as well as Royal North Devon golf course.

Relax and enjoy the varied cuisine in the luxurious Olive Tree Restaurant and Appledore Bar & Grill. Excellent leisure facilities including outdoor swimming pool, sauna, solarium and fitness. Full entertainment programme with live music most nights.

The Olive Tree, our full-service restaurant serves a variety of fine cuisine, from the Al A Carte menu in a beautiful candle-lit restaurant looking out on to the courtyard with a running water-fountain and offers outdoor seating, the perfect place to be served Devon cream teas. Our Location
From leaving the M5 motorway at junction 27 new Tiverton. Take the exit A361 to Barnstaple. On the approach to the town take the A39 to Bideford. On the outskirts of Bideford you cross the new Torridge Bridge and at the first roundabout take the 3rd exit to Westward Ho! Which is Heywood Road. We are situated at the crest of the hill on the right hand side, our entrance is in Durrant Lane.

My stay at the hotel was a a pleasant one. The room was clean with all the usuals such as tea, coffee, tv etc. Had a fantastic shower as well. The only disappointment was that the gym was extremely poor, there was a joggin machine, a cross trainer that didn't work and a few weights. The gym was found on the top floor of the penthouse part of the hotel however it was definitely not penthouse material. Breakfast was good although I would have prefered my cooked breakfast to be a little hotter. But all in all an ok stay and I would happily recommend it to other people.
