Dildawn is a unique estate featuring large holiday houses for self catering holidays. Set in the centre of 50 acres of woodlands and private grounds. The Estate is family run, and its unspoiled grounds feature a number of nature walks, ponds, woodland and scenic spots where our visitors can relax and enjoy the great variety of birds, wildlife, flora and fauna.
Enjoying great views over the surrounding countryside. There is a mile stretch of private river running through the estate suited to both beginner and more established fishermen.
The Estates location is ideally situated in the heart of Galloway giving superb access to explore the regions many superb towns, castles, gardens and places of interest . We are 2 miles from Castle Douglas town with many great pubs, places to eat and shop.
We are 20 minutes from the coastline with several nearby beaches including Kipford mariner great for sailing, windsurfing , sea fishing and other water based activities. We are 15 minutes from Loch Ken highly recognized for power boating, waterskiing,canoeing and jet skiing along with a sailing centre. We have several excellent mountain biking , hiking , horse riding and walking areas surrounding us. Not to mention the numerous golf courses and driving ranges locally and through out the region. Whatever your holiday requirements it is likely you will find them here.
The main house and surrounding buildings date back to the 18th century they have been fully restored and have been up dated with all modern appliances to suit today's living. The house and estate were used recently for the location filming of 'Red Rose' The film of the life of Robert Burns the famous Scottish
poet. The houses have also been featured in building and interior design programmes.

The mile long stretch of the River Dee acts as the Estate's boundary. The river is renowned for its salmon and trout fishing, and this stretch features two good salmon pools and three exceptional trout fishing stretches ideal for fly and spinner fishing.
For those wanting a riding holiday there are period stables, looseboxes and a large grazing field within the estate. For golfers we have numerous excellent courses in the local area, and throughout Dumfries and Galloway.
