Dalesgate Lodge
Dalesgate Lodge was built in the Victorian era in 1885 and has the internal structure which reflects that period with high airy rooms. It is only a five minute stroll from the town centre where there is an abundance of shops, restaurants and public houses.

Skipton is situated in the Yorkshire Dales and is known as "The Gateway to the Dales". It is an immensely popular base for people wishing to visit the surrounding area. The town holds a busy street market every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday which is situated on both sides of the High Street on the attractive cobbled setts. Aireville Park, a two minute walk from Dalesgate Lodge, offers peaceful walks, a pitch and putt course, an indoor heated swimming pool and hard tennis courts.

Skipton also offers you a visit to the 900 year old Castle, once the home of Lady Ann Clifford, and the fully roofed buildings boast facilities such as dungeons and watch towers, Railway enthusiasts will find a trip on the famous Settle to Carlisle line a must. For the more energetic there is caving, potholing, hiking, mountain biking or even ballooning.Twelve miles away in the little picturesque village of Haworth is the home of the Bronte Sisters and anybody who has read Wuthering Heights will see the rugged landscape so clearly portrayed in the novel.

Bolton Abbey is the Estate of the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire and here you can enjoy riverside walks suitable for all ages, picnic sites and nature trails. There is a steam railway at Bolton Abbey which takes you to the nearby village of Embsay. Malham Cove, which boasts the highest limestone lake in the country, is well worth a visit and there are other places of interest too numerous to mention. The Yorkshire Dales is certainly a place that can keep you entertained fully.

Mel and Christine promise you a warm Yorkshire welcome, a hearty traditional Dales Breakfast and a comfortable bed at the end of a busy day. All rooms are en-suite with colour TV, tea/coffee facilities and there is also private parking.

We enjoyed our stay so much at Dalesgate, that, for the first time in all our travels, we gave a review on Trip Adviser. It proved to be an excellent location for our week stay; the room was comfortable, and the breakfasts were very good. The number one praise, though, goes to Mel and Christine- wonderful hosts, very welcoming, helpful, and friendly. During our visit to Scotland and England, we stayed in 7 B&B's- all very good, but we would say that Mel and Christine topped our list for great hosts.
