Culloden House
Culloden House was built in1865 as a Victorian Gentleman's residence for one of the founder members of the Royal North Devon Golf Club (the oldest Links course in England). 'Golfston' as it was originally called, was one of the earliest buildings constructed in Westward Ho! and is now a family run guest house. The original charm has been preserved where possible, to create a traditional warm and friendly atmosphere.

AWARDS:
" Britain's Best B&B 2010 - 450 perfect places for bed & breakfast "
(This is an invitation only AA publication)
AA 3 star Guest House - Highly Commended 2007-8, 2008-9 and 2009-10

ROOMS:
Culloden House offers elegant and spacious accommodation. All seven of our guest bedrooms are ensuite, have Freeview digital television and tea and coffee making facilities. We welcome children and have cots and highchairs available for babies. Two of our bedrooms are ideal for families and can accommodate six people quite comfortably.

Culloden House provides the ideal base for planning your days and then unwinding in the large, elegant drawing room with its panoramic views and sumptuous sofas.

PET FRIENDLY:
As pet owners ourselves, we know how difficult (and expensive) it can be to find boarding accommodation for your pet whilst you are taking a holiday break. We disagree with the policy of most of the "chains", so at Culloden House well behaved family pets can be accommodated with prior notice at no extra charge.

FOOD:
A traditional English cooked breakfast is served in the elegant dining room overlooking the whole of the Golden Bay. There are many pubs, cafes and restaurants just a few minutes walk away in the village so you can enjoy a drink with your evening meal without worry. Guests are able to relax in the guest lounge or on the terrace looking out to sea.

WESTWARD HO! and North Devon
Westward Ho! is the perfect place for a short break or family holiday, and is only 5 minutes drive from the main A39. Situated right in the middle of an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) and the first UNESCO biosphere in the UK, our beach boasts Blue Flag status in recognition of the high quality and cleanliness of the water and golden sands.

Why not take a leisurely 5 minute stroll to the beach and explore Northam Burrows? The Atlantic breakers provide surfers, whether novice or intermediate, with a wonderful playground. Our vast beach is two miles long and hosts kite buggy and kite board riders from all over the country.

Take a gentle walk along the National Trust's Kipling Tors and if you're more ambitious, the South West Coastal Path is only 200 metres and you could walk to Clovelly!

There is so much to be enjoyed in this special part of the Westcountry. We look forward to welcoming you to Culloden House.
