Corsewall Lighthouse Hotel
Corsewall Lighthouse Hotel - This very unique luxury hotel and restaurant delights everyone who has the good fortune to stay or dine here. It has the charm and romance of an 1815 functioning lighthouse with the comforts of a small very unique luxury hotel and restaurant.

COMFORT
Your comfort is assured by the owner who personally runs and supervises the hotel. A peaceful, relaxed and friendly atmosphere awaits you at one of the newest and most unique hotels that Scotland has to offer. The Lighthouse is a listed ‘A’ building of major national importance. Its light still beams a warning for ships approaching the mouth of Loch Ryan. Extensive restorations provide our guests with bedrooms serviced with en suite facilities, one of which is disabled equipped, TV/VCR, telephone, individually controlled central heating and tea and coffee facilities.

AROUND THE LIGHTHOUSE
Some of Scotland's most spectacular coastline is found within and nearby the 20 acre grounds of Corsewall Light House Hotel. The lighthouse galleries and public areas afford fine views of the Kintyre Peninsula, Arran, the Firth of Clyde, Ailsa Craig and even the coast of Ireland. The Iron Age fort of Dunskirkloch is found here. A wide variety of flora, abundant sea life, seals, birds and even deer can be viewed from here. On a clear night, the beams of several Scottish and Irish lighthouses can be seen.

Good food and welcoming staff, however the fabric of the hotel is decidedly “faded” and in our opinion the facilities do not warrant the prices charged. Unfortunately this left one, perhaps unfairly, with an impression of poor value for money. With a modest drinks bill, the final cost was well over £600 for a couple staying two nights with dinner bed and breakfast. The rooms within the main hotel building are sorely in need of a complete refit if they are to provide the comfort one would expect. Most notable gripes (apart from dated decor and cheap furniture) were hard beds, uncomfortable pillows, and cramped en suite facilities with a barely adequate electric shower. Having said this there are new build satellite suites a few hundred yards from the main building which should offer a much higher level of comfort.

We enjoyed a very memorable stay to celebrate our neice's 21st birthday. The food, the service, the scenery and accommodation were all great. It was a truly unique occasion.

My wife and I had an enjoyable visit. The room (Firth of Cromarty) was fairly well appointed and the bed very comfortable. The food was excellent and all the staff were friendly and solicitous. Our only (minor) reservations concern the lack of a proper bar (its present location in the dining room is not conducive to relaxed conversation), and the rather high tariff for an off-season stay.

We had a very enjoyable overnight stay at Corsewall Lighthouse. The staff were very friendly and informative the accomodation was warm, clean and cosy. The 5 course evening meal and breakfast the next morning were excellent and I would certainly return again.
