Cley Windmill
Cley Windmill dates from the 18th Century and is a well known landmark on the North Norfolk Coast. The Windmill has been converted into a guesthouse of great character and charm. The old stables and boathouses are now stylish bed and breakfast or self-catering retreats for the independent holiday makers.

Cley Windmill is one of Englands most photographed buildings. The Windmill itself sleeps up to 18 in round and square rooms, all furnished with style and with splendid views. The sunsets from here and unforgettably lovely.

To visit Cley Windmill is a unique experience. Evening drinks are available in the circular sitting room around the roaring fire. Excellent 3 course meals are served in the 300 year old beamed dining room.

The Windmill stands on the north side of the village within walking distance of the excellent and unusual village shops. It has uninterrupted views of the sea, the salt marshes and Cley Bird Sanctuary with Blakeney Harbour in the distance. The large walled garden abuts the River Glaven, surrounded by reeds and tranquillity.
Cley Windmill has character in spades. The old grain store, barley bin, stables and the original circular milling area house seven comfortable rooms, with scattered cushions and rugs, chunky sofas and antique, clawfoot baths.

The newly renovated B&B Long House is a long flint-walled open-plan building with a vaulted wood panelled ceiling. Long House has a king size double bed and three windows with good views over the river Glaven and the marshes.

The original dovecote has been converted into a snug flint-walled self-catering cottage. It has a living area on the ground floor, with open plan kitchen, a master bedroom (twin or king size double bed) and bathroom. Stairs lead to a mezzanine gallery where there is a double bed under a vaulted wooden ceiling. The Dovecote has views of the Mill and is adjacent to the Mill's walled garden. This self catering outhouse is equipped with cooker, microwave, fridge, television and electric heaters. China, cutlery and cooking utensils are provided and the beds have duvets. Linen and towels are inclusive in the rental price.

The entire windmill can be hired in its entirety for special house parties, and is an extremely popular venue for characterful, memorable and romantic weddings.

tHE windmill at Cley was a great place to stay, unusual, stylish and well managed.Breakfast was delightful with good choice of cereals, fruit and cooked breakfast. Our room was well decorated and clean, but somewhat cold due to freezing weather and snow outside

My daughters wedding, without any doubt it was the ideal venue in an ideal location, nothing was too much trouble and it appeared as though we were left to enjoy the 3 day stay as though it was our own home. A magical venue for a very special event. Thanks to all the staff at Cley Windmill.
