The Castle Hotel is a welcoming 4 star B&B for an overnight stop or a longer stay to explore beautiful Carmarthenshire. A friendly, family run concern, the Hotel has comfortable rooms and a restaurant offering excellent cuisine using local Welsh produce where possible.
Breakfast is served with a cheery smile downstairs (I’m afraid we don’t offer room service) from 7.00am.
Meals are served in the restaurant or informally in the bar and are varied and cooked to a high standard including much local produce such as succulent Welsh Black Cattle, fresh Towy salmon, and game in season as well as some of Wales' award winning speciality Cheeses.
The Hotel which has recently been upgraded, has historical connections with Lord Nelson and the writer George Henry Barrow.
Also available we have the Ballroom, completely renovated and licensed for 150 persons, open out onto the terrace and lawned garden providing excellent facilities for weddings, conferences and all types of functions. Menus can be tailor-made to meet your requirements.
The Hotel is an ideal centre for a wide range of leisure activities.
The beautiful Llyn Brianne Reservoir is just a few miles up the Towy Valley, set in excellent walking country. The area offers a huge variety of walks, from strolls along the riverbank to stiff hill climbs.
Llandovery on the A40 is the gateway to West Wales and an ideal place to break a journey or take a holiday. Llandovery itself has a history going back to the Romans and beyond, highlighted in the adjacent Heritage Centre.

We have plenty of parking for up to 20 cars behind the hotel and residents parking is free. There is also a public car park directly behind the hotel.

Directions:
Cross the severn bridge on the M4, continue on the M4 to junction 24. Follow the A449 Northbound towards Raglan/Abergaveny. Follow signs off this road onto the A40 sign posted Abergavenny. Pass through Abergavenny on the A40 and head towards Crickhowell. Pass through Crickhowell towards Brecon. As you approach Brecon, take the Brecon Bypass and then continue along the A40 signposted Llandovery. Continue through Sennybridge and Trecastle and into Llandovery. The hotel is located on the main road in the center of the town.

Coarse and game fishing are available, the Towy and Cothie are famous salmon and trout rivers. Bird watchers are very well served with a rich variety of habitats and several bird reserves within easy reach.
