Cambo House
Unmatched tranquillity and character in bed & breakfast, self catering or serviced apartments. For a single traveller, a romantic weekend, family holiday, golfing party or that significant reunion in Scotland.

There is a unique quality about Cambo, home to the Erskine Family since 1688, that entices guests back year after year. Their impressive Victorian mansion house, built in 1881, lies at the heart of a 1200 acre estate in one of the most unspoiled areas of Scotland.

The family welcomes you to share the comfort and spaciousness of their home, absorb the beauty of the gardens, woodland walks and shoreline and unwind in the informal, restful atmosphere that makes Cambo so special.

Choose below from the range of self catering apartments within the mansion house or one of the traditional farm cottages less than a mile away, all fully self-contained and well-appointed. Breakfast and/or dinner (on request if available). Bed and breakfast guest rooms with magnificent beds are available on the first floor.

Our guest rooms are on the first floor of the main part of the house, off the magnificent staircase and landing. The Yellow Room, with en-suite bath/shower room, has a delightful four poster bed and elegant furniture and looks out over the parkland and spring blossoms.

The Blue Room with its lovely Victorian tester bed, magnificent furnishings and large luxurious private bathroom (bath and shower) looks over the lawn and woodland at the back of the house and enjoys the morning sun.

There is a guest sitting room with tv on the ground floor overlooking the fountain and gardens.Evening meals can often be provided at Cambo if arranged in advance or enjoy a 15 minute stroll to the gastropub in the village.

We are fortunate to be within a 10 to 15 minute drive from renowned restaurants such as The Peat Inn, The Cellar in Anstruther and The Seafood Restaurants in St Monans and St Andrews, but there are also many other exceptionally good eating places in the area and we will be pleased to help you choose.

November is not the best weather in Scotland but that week St Andrews was better than the rest of the country. Cambo was warm and comfortable in an old worldly sort of way. i stayed with 2 friends in the "Lower Servants Apartment" self catering and it was warm and comfortable. with the option of a coal fire if you wanted to prepare it. Very welcome in November. Grounds lovely and staff very friendly and helpful. Would like to return in another season.
