This friendly and informal hotel enjoys a splendid view of the Kyle of Tongue and ruins of Varrich Castle. Bedrooms are smartly furnished in pine, whilst both the comfortable lounge and adjoining dining room take full advantage of the views. The latter offers a five course dinner menu featuring freshly prepared dishes using local produce, with lobsters and oysters when available.
The hotel is located in the centre of Tongue, next door to the Royal Bank of and it is only a short stroll to the post office and shop and a few minutes from the general store and petrol station.
The hotel enjoys outstanding views out over the unspoiled Sutherland landscape and is the perfect place from which to explore the northern highlands. From here you can witness the difference between the 'flow country' of Caithness with its sweeping landscapes and open skies and the rugged scenery with spectacular mountains and glens that typifies so much of north Sutherland.
