Barnabas House
Ian and Carolyn invite you to relax at Barnabas House, a sympathetically renovated Edwardian residence, tucked away in a peaceful location. We offer clean, comfortable bed and breakfast accommodation, most rooms with great views over the moor. Expect friendly hosts, fabulous food, and a little bit of Dartmoor peace and quiet. Both leisure and business travellers most welcome.
Guest rooms at Barnabas House are spacious and centrally heated with comfortable beds, colour TV/DVD and Freeview, hospitality tray and complimentary toiletries. Some rooms also have silent running refrigerators and iPod docks.
Our ground floor en-suite double with its own private patio is a particular favourite for our less mobile guests or those who like a little more luxury.
Our super spacious elegant family suite for up to four has its own single bedroom off the main room, ideal for tucking up the little 'un before settling down on the sofa to watch the beautiful Dartmoor sunset. It also has a modern luxurious private bathroom with an extra big bath and separate shower.
Our beautiful double en-suite on the second floor is quiet, romantic and very comfortable, ideal for unwinding after the stresses of the working week.
And don't forget the family room with lovely en-suite bath and shower, great for soaking away the day.
Altogether we have 7 rooms, including a single en-suite.
Work or play, get your day off to a great start with a full English or continental breakfast using fresh local produce, served in our breakfast room or on the patio if weather permits. We offer fresh fruit, yoghurt, home-made pancakes and cooked breakfast all freshly prepared to order. Vegetarian options are available and special diets can be catered for by arrangement.
If you're coming for an activity holiday, we have secure cycle storage, and drying facilities for walking and cycling equipment. If you're blogging as you go, why not take advantage of the free wireless internet access to keep up to date.
Prices are per night for the room and include full English breakfast. Special offers may be available on our website www.barnabas-house.co.uk, and why not check out our great reviews on TripAdvisor.
Our "Dartmoor First" award is a recognition by the National Park Authority of our "green" commitment and means that we aim to be as eco-friendly as possible - using local food, recycling as much as we can and encouraging our guests to use public transport.

We stayed on the ground floor and had our own little Terrace which was perfect for my partner. The room was clean and tidy and was very tastefully decorated. The couple running the B&B were very friendly. I didn't make it up for breakfast, but my partner assured me it was very tasty.

We had a very enjoyable stay, both Carolyn and Ian were lovely and nothing was too much trouble. We plan to go back again hopefully in July.
