Atholdene Guest House, Inverness

Atholdene House is a lovely 19th century home on Southside Road in Inverness. The A 3 star B&B Guest House is old and retains many of its original features.

Fred & Penelope, proprietors since August 2005, have set about restoring and improving the house and facilities for their guests. The house boasts a mixture of old and new rooms. Old being the large original rooms to the house which have all been upgraded with ensuite power showers, and new being smaller more modern rooms situated in the extension of the house, these rooms are all ensuite.

The rooms are all newly furnished with solid pine specially made furniture, and the beds topped with the highest quality Sealy mattresses.

Our breakfasts are made from only the best quality food. We always try to serve fresh free range eggs, delivered directly from a friends farm. We serve Scottish smoked Salmon, smoked haddock, kippers, award winning MacSweens haggis. Our buffet is laden with cereals, yoghurts, fresh fruits, juices etc. and of course we only serve the best coffee... Be hungry when you come to our dining room for your breakfast! While relaxing over your breakfast you can watch the children wander to school, or you can enjoy the morning paper.

Atholdene House is situated in the Crown area, a quiet residential area only 5 minutes walk from Inverness city centre. Crown was once the place the English army lay in wait the night before the battle of Culloden, when the proud Highland clans were decimated and scattered.

Inverness is the capital of the highlands of Scotland ideal for settling down for a wonderful relaxing holiday or to base oneself and explore the sprawling areas around the magnificent countryside.
