LOCAL INFORMATION
__________________

Richmond upon Thames is a picturesque London Borough, boasting some of the most beautiful rural surroundings, great houses and gardens to be found in the capital. With its many parks, access to the river, museums, galleries and historical houses, Richmond upon Thames will appeal to all tastes. Shopping facilities in Richmond are exceptionally varied, with its numerous high street shops and designer boutiques.

HISTORIC BUILDINGS . . .
No visit to Richmond is complete without taking time to visit the other famous houses in the area - Marble Hill House, Ham House, Osterley Park, Chiswick House, Syon Park, Hogarth House and many others. Hampton Court Palace is not far away.

PARKS AND OPEN SPACES
With the Royal Botanical Gardens at Kew, two Royal Parks and 21 miles of riverbank, the area is extremely popular with walkers and ramblers. A fifteen minute walk from will bring you to beautiful Richmond Park, where large herds of deer still wander freely. For a gentler (i.e. flat!) stroll, only two minutes walk will enable you to access the River Thames.
