Kay and Gordon Simpson would like to welcome you to "Appleby Guest House" built in 1898 for the Manager of Pleasley colliery.

Appleby is situated close to the M1 and A1 on the edge of Sherwood Forest making it the perfect place to stay if you are visiting Mansfield, Sherwood Forest or surrounding areas, either working or just taking a break.

Chesterfield, Nottingham, Derby and Sheffield are within easy driving distance.

Appleby is also particularly popular with guests visiting the Derbyshire Peak District due to its location and easy accessibility.

Appleby is very comfortable, quiet and competitively priced. It is family run and offers excellent bed and breakfast accommodation. The guest house is accessed via its own private drive, away from the main road. Ample car parking is provided adjacent to the house for convenience.

Would have been nice to have had an on-suite but the booking was last minute so just took what was available.The Guest house is very very clean and the breakfast good quality.The surrounding area is good for walking or cycling.The only negative point I did not get clean towels each day. Over all 10 out of 10 and would stay again.

stayed in the coach house which was very roomy and clean on arrival, set outside the hotel itself so nice and quiet, grounds are well kept and the breakfast although earlier than we would have liked was plentiful and well cooked

Clean room. Front of the house suffers from the noise of a busy road. Shower strength was weak. Sitting room pleasant. Dining room also pleasant and a good full English breakfast. All in all, for the money, reasonable.

I stayed here for 2 weeks due to getting a job 130miles away from home, so during this time I was looking for somewhere permanent to stay, the owners were very friendly and helpful during my stay. I can't say a bad word about my stay
