Hotel is great for those travelling with dogs. We had an easy access room which opened to a court yard. It was a large, modern and comfortable room. Staff were friendly and welcoming and the only down side was that being a Sunday evening it was very quiet in the dinning room and it could have benifitted from some music to make up for the lack of guests. We would stay again.

My Wife and i stayed at this hotel over new year, and found it to be ideal for our purposes. Its location on the village square meant we had a first class view of the new year firework display. The accomadation was first class, great rooms and lovely staff. The new years eve and new years day menu was excellent as was the bar with its selection of scotch malt whiskeys. This was our first new years break and i can really recommend this hotel to travellers.

Although it does not state so on their website, this hotel does have a few dog friendly rooms with direct access to the courtyard and garden - this is a god send for dog owners and proves an ideal stop over on the way to Scotland for us. In addition, the rooms are lovely, service is excellent and breakfast great. We have now used it twice and will be there again shortly and can recommend it without hesitation.

We planned to do some hill walking in an unfamiliar area and wanted a comfortable base to come back to after a day roughing it. We chose this hotel through its web site because it seemed to be in sympathy with nature tourism and also to major in food! We are usually ravenous after a day out. Nothing disappointed us. Moffat is a small town with a surprising number of hotels. Not many can have seen the investment that the owners have put into this one. It has been modernised with a professional touch but without losing character. Strong points for us were the friendly unpretentious but professional staff, the interesting and good value dinner menu, keenly priced wine list and the location. Our room could have used some more storage perhaps but we were only staying a couple of nights so perhaps other rooms do have? Management had provided an addditional heater for our bedroom without any prompting so we were cosy there. The shower was excellent. A small but important point when so ofte

The hotel and room were excellent and we were made most welcome by the staff notably the receptionist on the evening of July 29th who could not have done more to help. Thanks annandale for a lovely stay.
