The tranquil atmosphere of the Guest Lounge makes it a pleasant place to sit and relax by a cosy fire before dining in one of York's many fine restaurants, offering continental or traditional cuisine. The personal attention of the resident proprietors ensures not only a warm welcome, but a truly personal service throughout your stay.
The Ambleside offers a high standard of cleanliness, bedrooms are en-suite (comprising shower and wc). Each room is spacious and comfortably furnished, all rooms are centrally heated and are extremely well equipped, with tea and coffee making facilities, colour TV and alarm clock radio. Hair dryers and an ironing board are available on request.

We take pleasure in ensuring your requirements are met to the highest standards. To set you up for the day, we offer a choice of Full English, Continental or Vegetarian breakfast. Special dietary needs can normally be catered for if requested.
We are within easy reach from all the major roadways. Take the A1079 outer ring road and come in on the A19. Ambleside Guest House is literally only minutes away from all the historic sites York has to offer.On street parking is available by use of parking permit. Please ask at reception on arrival.A welcome tray will be waiting for you on arrival - replenished daily.
