It lies beside the pretty Sandford Park, and is just a brief stroll from the town's many shops, restaurants, theatres and bars. There are 12 comfortable rooms, and the hotel is efficiently run in a friendly and unstuffy manner by the staff and resident owners, Sophie and Greg.

Most rooms have en-suite facilities, but some budget rooms are available.

Breakfast is prepared from quality ingredients. A hearty cooked traditional English breakfast is offered (with vegetarian alternatives). Also available are cereals, freshly baked croissants and bread rolls, yoghurts, home-made fruit compote, fresh fruit and fruit juices.

Although I usually stay in Hotels this b and b has changed my mind. The locally sourced food at breakfast was excellent and there was an honesty bar which was great. Would recommend.

Everything was done for my comfort and convenience. The room was exceptionally clean and comfortable, the location was convenient to the town centre and transportation, and the breakfast was superb. I will definitely stay at the Abbey again.
