One of the best places to stay in the Highlands. With a five star AA rating for accommodation. This stone-built Victorian Town-house in the centre of a picturesque town, offers high levels of comfort with friendly and genial hosts Kerensa & Michael Carr, who take care of you with a true sense of Highland hospitality. Previously mentioned in all the major food & travel guides, two AA rosettes.
Only three bedrooms, so book well ahead.
Rooms are warm & comfortable, with first-class towels, molton brown toiletries, power showers, cotton bed-linen & hair-dryer. With flat screen freeview television, telephone, wireless broadband and tea & coffee making facilities,
There is a library/lounge available to residents to relax or read during their stay.
Sorry to say we have closed the restaurant section, as Michael is now Head Chef at Royal Dornoch Golf Club.
As a private members club, if you are playing golf at Royal Dornoch, you are entitled to use the club house facilities as part of your green fee, and so still enjoy Michaels 'Bistro style' food there. As a normal traveller, unfortunately, you are not able to do so.
Aside of the Golf Club, where obviously I am likely to be biased toward my husband's cooking, there are a number of places to eat in Dornoch, for a variety of budgets:- Luigis, Sutherland House Restaurant, Royal Golf Hotel ( hopefully re-opening 2010), Castle Hotel, plus cafes during the day.
Kerensa also runs a Bespoke picture framing business, The Framing Room, as a Fine Art Trade Guild Member. With a variety of art on the walls for sale.
