Perfect location for winter recreation, either serious sports or family focused. Warm hospitable hosts, professional staff, and quality furnishings all make the Victoria a home from home. Families are very well cared for. Yet couples can also benefit from the atmosphere.

We thought the location very good: beautiful scenery, close to the ski lifts, well connected to public transport. We experienced the hotel staff to be very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the meals, good variety and excellent quality. We found the ski offer very convenient: the hotel has its own ski school and bus to the ski slopes - just 3 minutes away. We found this to be a great hotel for familes who are ski beginners.

An excellent hotel for a long weekend away with friendly and knowledgeable staff and a friendly atmosphere for a person travelling alone. There is a wide range of winter sport activites within walking distance and the hotel is in an ideal location as it is in the centre of Kandersteg. The excellent bus service passes the door and the railway station is only a short walk away.

A great hotel personally run by the owners. Staff are all great and clearly enjoy working there. They are very helpful and informative. Food is imaginative and well prepared. The pool is large an hot and there is a sauna for private use. There are large communal rooms to relax in and the dining room is stunning. We have been going there on and off for 19 years and every time we go, there are improvements. The hotel attracts a lot of families and regular visitors.

This is the 3rd time we have stayed at the Vicotia Ritter Hotel and as always we were very pleased with the accommodation, food and overall service from all the staff. Great weather and skiing we will be back next year!

We've been coming to the Hotel Victoria for over 20 years, both for the (cross-country) skiing and for the walking in the summer. We always enjoy our stay, and in particular the warm welcome from The Platzer family and their team, who oever the years have lent us equipment we've forgotten, dried our soaked walking clothes and generally looked after us. On this visit we had one of the recently restored, and very comfortable, rooms facing the garden, the cross-country trail and the Bluemlisalp mountain. As always, we found the food excellent, both in choice and in preparation, and the weekly fondue and raclette evening in the Ritter restaurant was great fun. We've already booked to go back again in July!

The hotel is situated in the middle of the town with shops and cafes nearby and wonderful views of the mountains. The interior has great charm, especially the dining room. We saw the interior of several rooms and they were all charming and very comfortable. The staff were extremely polite and very helpful throughout with information on the local walks as well as providing a change of bedroom for one of our party. The food was excellent and served by friendly staff . We felt the hotel provided excellent value for money. The pool and sauna were very clean and ideal for a swim at the end of a day of walking in the mountains. We cannot recommend it too highly .

We met up with friends to spend a week in Kandersteg and the surrounding area. We walked, we took the train, the mini-bus and ferries. Everything was on time! Every evening we went back to the Hotel Victoria in Kandersteg and felt we were going home. The rooms were comfortable, the staff, without exception, were friendly, helpful and competent. All our requests for information were answered immediately. For example, printouts were provided if we needed to know train times.

nice hotel with friendly staf. We had a family room. When you enter the room you have a central hall with a bathroom. The bedrooms are devided. They have both an tv set and cuboards. The staf of the hotel is very friendly.

The combination of the true family atmosphere, good food prepared in an interesting way and accompanied by a judicious selection of Swiss wines, in an idyllic setting for Winter sports made this hotel a place that we shall be pleased to visit every year.

A super-friendly hotel! This is a family-run hotel, medium-sized with good facilities for groups. It is in the centre of Kandersteg, just a few minutes on foot from the train station. All the staff were very friendly and helpful without being intrusive. Lovely buffet-style breakfast with all the choice you could wish for. International cuisine with local specialties at the evening meal. Once a week they put on a splendid barbeque. You can make a lunchtime sandwich for your self from the breakfast buffet for only sfr3, which is a really excellent idea. Lovely indoor pool. There's also a sauna which looked nice (though we didn't try it). Meeting rooms good. Also a library/games like chess are available. And a games room for children. The bedrooms are spacious and comfortable.

Excellent holiday in a centrally located hotel in alpine village. 3rd stay which has improved each time. Owners and staff are very friendly and helpful - advice on local trips and help with booking. Excellent location for walking and enjoying the nature. Good access to rail and bus systems for touring in the Bernese Oberland.

The Hotel staff were very friendly and accomodating, and the hotel was in an excellent location for a short break. The hotel pool was a great bonus after a long day out in the mountains. The hotel is very family friendly and we were made to feel very welcome throughout our stay
