Hotel Palacio Ca Sa Galesa
Palacio Ca Sa Galesa is situated in the very heart of the
ancient city, graced by a fine example of Palma´s famed
Renaissance courtyards.

It was built in 1571 and has recently undergone meticulous
restoration, transforming it into one of the most exquisite
establishments on the island. Surrounded by artworks of
renowned painters and sculptors, as well as by the many
original stained-glass windows, guests enjoy the sensation of
sojourning in their own private museum.

The hotel was conceived as a unique lodging choice in the
historic centre of Palma. Waking up in any of its 12 rooms
and suites is like a dream – accents of Majorcan furniture
dating from the 17th and 18th centuries counter pointed
with modern paintings and sculptures create a luxurious
atmosphere, yet one that feels like home, and which
includes all of the most up-to-date services.
The conscientious proprietors of the hotel have managed to
create a very special oasis in the antique core of this
fascinating Mediterranean city. Strolling through its halls and
lounges, bathing in the Gothic Quarter´s only covered pool (a
restored ancient Roman bath), reading by the fireplace, or
relaxing to the agreeable splash of the patio fountain – these
are inimitable experiences to be savoured. Moreover, from the
spacious rooftop solarium guests can enjoy a magnificent
panoramic view of the Bay of Palma and the Cathedral, framed
by an infinite canopy of blue, in which it becomes
impossible to distinguish where the sea ends and the sky begins.

This is a wonderful place, if you know what you are getting into... The Palacio is located on a very (extremely) narrow street in the heart of Palma, next to the Cathedral. Location is great and really central to the old part of town. Note, however, that this means that it is difficult to get to the hotel by car, although the attentive staff will truly try to help. The hotel is located in an old mansion that has been beautifully rehabilitated. Although a bit "labyrinthic", one gets used to it after a while. Reception does not give a best first impression as you cannot imagine what you are going to find (papers all over, not a clean/correct decoration theme). The rooms are quite run down and also not very impressive (bathroom seems updated but furniture is not). Nice B&O TV set. Breakfast is so so, with not a very wide selection, usual and predictable. But... WOW! When you see the impressive dining room, kitchen, patio, terrace and pool everything seems to be forgotten. You feel as if y

We have been to this hotel many times over the past 12 years. It is a place for total peace and tranquillity, a place for couples, perhaps on a special occasion break. This is not (thank goodness) anything like a seaside Majorcan hotel where you find screaming children and people crammed together in endless rows. Instead, it is a marvellous and charming place for exploring Palma’s Old Town, the rest of the city and other parts of Majorca. The 12 rooms are all named after composers, and are all differently furnished. There is a lovely roof terrace with sunloungers, parasoles and a fridge stocked with soft drinks. It has stunning views of shipping passing into the harbour. The beautifully peaceful patio downstairs has an honesty bar from which you can help yourself to drinks, or there is free sherry for the early evening. Tea is served in the Monet kitchen, and you can take it out to the patio or sit in the winter by a roaring log fire in the salon. All the staff are unbelievably help

This is not like an hotel, it is like an elegant city residence. If you expect staff to be around every corner this is not for you. You are introduced to the hotel on arrival and then given the freedom to make yourself at home and enjoy it's calm luxury but if you need anything a single request is met exemplary service. Palacio Ca Sa Galesa is a stones throw from Palma's iconic cathedral, indeed it backs onto the Bishop's palace. It is ideally positioned for exploring the ancient city yet minutes from the bustling city centre, restraunts, bars, shops, museums and galleries. When you are not out exploring you can make use of a roof terrace, plunge pool with current machine, sauna, spa treatments, library, inner terrace or honesty bar. This is an hotel for adults who want to enjoy understated luxury and discreet efficient service. It is not cheap but Oh what a way to pamper yourselves.

Just returned from our second stay at this charming and very interesting hotel. A great hotel to stay in if you want to capture the charm of the area around the cathedral in the centre of Palma. Our first stay was in 2003 and we promised ourselves we would one day return. The staff are friendly and welcoming but not obtrusive and nothing was too much trouble. We arrived around 5 hours BEFORE our check-in time and shown straight to our room which meant we could make the most of our short break. Also we were allowed to check-out of our room late, no problem or charge. If you want a special break rather than the modern hotel then I thoroughly recommend you try this hotel.

I decided to surprise my family and take them to a luxury hotel. There is no discussion about the beauty of the palace, but what really impressed me was staff's kindness. They really made us feel special. Thank you!
