Hortensia Lodge, Hermanus

Hortensia Lodge, set in secluded gardens with a sparkling salt-water pool offers peace and tranquillity. Indigenous shrubs, manicured lawns and Hortensias (hydrangea hortensis) blooming in profusion (Nov.-March) are a delight to the senses. The indigenous shrubs attract a great variety of birds to the gardens.

Hortensia Lodge accommodates 8 guests in 4 double rooms. All rooms are en-suite and all rooms have access to the gardens. The 2 large garden rooms (30sqm) have a queen Bed and twin beds with a possibility of a sleeper couch for a third person. The 2 rooms in the main house, one with bath the other with a shower , have twin and double bed respectively. All rooms have tea/coffee making facilities, radio alarm clocks, hairdryer, TV, wall safe.

The interior of the entire establishment is spotlessly clean. The beds are the most comfortable
and guests comment favourably on the interior decor. Sumptuous tasty breakfasts are served on an elegant laid table

There is safe off-road parking on the property of Hortensia Lodge
Hortensia Lodge is a non-smoking lodge. Smoking is only permitted outdoors.
Children over the age of 14 are welcome but exceptions are made on occasion.

Rolf, the owner of Hortensia Lodge, has a legendary knowledge of Southern Africa and gladly offers travel advice.

Directions:
a.) Coming from Cape Town Airport
Take the N1 for about 70 km, then take the off ramp onto the R43 to Hermanus. Travel thru the centre of Hermanus. Stay on the main road that makes a ninety degree turn to the left. You come to a four way stop. Go across this stop, still in Main Road, then take the first left into Stemmet Street, then first right into Mitchell Street. First property entrance is 66 Mitchell Str You have arrived!

b.) From Stanford (for those guests that arrive from the Garden Route)
After entering Hermanus on the R43 travel approx. 6 km towards the centre of town. At the Shell filling station turn right, and immediately left again for about 400 metres up Mitchell Street. Hortensia Lodge is No. 66 on the left hand side of the road.
