This centrally sited hostel is a converted traditional guesthouse with character. The main house comprises a few small bedrooms, while the adjacent building has 3 separate fully self contained flats which sleep 4-9 in mostly twin/double rooms. Close to transport facilities it’s the perfect hub for exploring New Zealand.

Picton is nestled between the sea and the hills in the heart of the Marlborough Sounds. It’s the perfect base for both land and sea activities including walking the famous Queen Charlotte Track, bush walks, launch trips, fishing, sailing, boating, sea kayaking, water skiing, para sailing, para gliding, scuba diving, snorkelling, swimming, mountain biking, tennis, squash & golf.

The facilities were clean and reasonably comfortable but the woman running it was a little rude to some guests at times. It is very central and easy to find your way around Picton.
