In the main house there are 3 bedrooms. The king room has a king sized bed with ensuite and ranch sliders opening onto the deck with views of Mt Ruapehu.The deck leads to outdoor spa pool. The queen room has a queen bed with ensuite and sliding doors lead to private deck with garden views. The super king/twin room has a private bathroom with sliding doors opening onto the deck with views of Mt Ruapehu and leading to the outdooor spa pool.

The guest lounge has a large open fireplace, TV, DVD player as well as plenty of books and games to keep you entertained in the evening. Your delicious breakfast is served in the dining room.Relax in the outdoor spa with a glass of wine while enjoying the sun setting over Mt Ruapehu

Liz and Alec spent most of their working life in Auckland where they brought up their two children. After the children became independent, Alec`s love of fishing and hunting brought them to Ohakune where they set up Tairoa Lodge. They chose a site that has spectacular uninterrupted views of Mt Ruapehu and beside the Mangawhero River where many trout have been caught. There is also a swimming hole at the end of the property where several of our guests have enjoyed a cooling dip in the cool waters. Alec camped on site for several months and played a major part in the construction of the building, then Liz joined him a few months later when they both put the finishing touches on the Lodge to make it the warm and comfortable place it is today. We have many overseas visitors during the summer months and we enjoy sitting outside on the deck with them taking in the views and sharing a bottle of wine and good conversation before dinner.
