Over the past years we have transformed our heritage listed Victorian villa, into what has been awarded and internationally recognised as one of New Zealands leading luxury urban retreats, so much more than just a luxury bed and breakfast. Stafford Villa is located in the genteel, historic village of Birkenhead Point, across the bay by passenger ferry or a short car ride from the entertainment district of downtown Auckland.
New Zealand owned and hosted, our passion is for the sense of history our New Zealand heritage home offers and to show our guests a glimpse into the life of our forefathers who immigrated to New Zealand in the 1880’s as shipping owners. Stafford Villa has a reputation for elegance, comfort, style, service and attention to detail, providing a memorable and relaxing stay in a convenient yet peaceful location. Stafford Villa is close to the water and surrounded by tropical trees, a native flora and active bird life, away from traffic noise but close to everything you could need.
Our dream was to be Auckland’s and destination of choice for the discerning traveller to New Zealand and we established Stafford Villa due to our passion to share the local Maori and Colonial History of the area Te Waitemata (the Northern waters of the upper Auckland Harbour), to showcase our vibrant, beautiful harbour city of Auckland and the unique area of the maritime village of Birkenhead Point.
Stafford Villa is so convenient for all Auckland has to offer and a gateway to either the Bay of Islands or south to Rotorua and Taupo. We are a short ten minute ferry ride to downtown Auckland and attractions, minutes away from award winning restaurants, antique and boutique shopping. Kauri Point an early Maori fortress and settlement is minutes walk away.
Stafford Villa offers luxury accommodation in two guest suites with a dressing area, bath and shower. The suites have been refurbished to the highest modern standard with the emphasis on style, elegance, comfort and privacy. Within a short drive of Stafford Villa is a stunning array of beaches, parklands, numerous golf courses and premium New Zealand wineries of which we are happy to arrange personalised touring.
