Arriving from the North, Airport, or City
If you are driving from the north - from Kaikoura or Hanmer Springs, you will be driving along Highway 1 southbound. If you are leaving from Christchurch airport, leave via the main exit and drive towards Russley Rd roundabout, turning right, which is also Highway 1. From here, drive about 4km. until you reach Yaldhurst Rd., marked as Hwy73A, turn left here and drive, following the signs to Akaroa. Turn right onto Highway 75 toward Akaroa - through Halswell and Little River.
From central Christchurch, drive south towards Moorhouse Avenue, where you turn right and proceed towards Lincoln Rd, which becomes Highway 75.
Little River has an amazing art gallery, which is worth a short stop. They have revolving exhibitions and installations. Also, consider a stop at the Hilltop to enjoy the spectacular view of Akaroa harbour, and then drive down into Akaroa, where the highway becomes Rue Lavaud - the main street.
Drive through the village, past the BNZ Bank to the next block on your left - this is Rue Benoit. We are immediately left on the corner, and the property is signposted. Drive up the driveway......Welcome!
Driving time should be about 90 minutes from the airport, and 75 minutes from the central city, plus any stops along the way.
