Kauaeranga Country Bed and Breakfast, Thames, is situated in a beautiful valley only a short distance from the town. It is an ideal base to explore the lovely Coromandel Peninsula including Hot Water Beach, Cathedral Cove, Kauri Groves, The Pinnacles Walk and countless remote beaches.

Tastefully furnished in antique and period furniture, this cottage-style accommodation is a home away from home. A private entrance welcomes you into a large comfortable living/dining area. There is a queen bed and a twin bedroom with another single bed available in the sun porch if needed, a kitchen for self-catering, laundry facilities, private bathroom, T V / video and views of the surrounding bush and mountains from each window. We only accept one party at a time ensuring your complete privacy.

The river, on the boundary, is excellent for safe swimming and trout fishing or just lying on the sandy beach. Our property of 10 acres is home to horses, sheep and chickens, producing free-range eggs. The rambling gardens have paths to explore. Marvel at the glow worms at night. There are short walks to take giving wonderful views of the valley and surrounding countryside.

Breakfast provisions can be left in your lodgings or join with us to help plan your day. Home-made muffins, pancakes with bacon, maple syrup and pineapple are but a couple of options available to start your day with.

Maybe a walk to the Pinnacles, which was voted as one of the “101 Must Do’s for Kiwis” appeals, or choose from one of the many walks in the Valley. A drop off/pick up can be arranged for car security.
