Glengariff 1877, Hamilton

A warm welcome awaits you at Glengariff, one of the earliest pioneer homesteads built in the heart of the Waikato. The gracious two-storey residence with a distinctive bell tower has spacious guests rooms with private balconies overlooking the garden. The homestead was built in 1877 by Samuel Shelton for Edward Lake. Kauri logs were shipped up the Waikato River to Pukerimu Landing. Later alterations include an air-conditioned conservatory, sometimes used for small intimate weddings and conferences. The house is situated 700 metres off the road, ensuring guests enjoy a relaxing stay in a private and peaceful environment.

ABOUT US:
Holiday and business guests are assured of a warm welcome and a pleasant stay at Glengariff. Guests rooms are located on the first floor and include a superking bridal suite with ensuite and a queen room with large private bathroom and separate toilet. Both rooms have private balconies overlooking the large garden. A further twin room is available for a family traveling together and is usually used in conjunction with the queen room.

Bridal Suite
A lovely spacious superking room includes ensuite bath/shower with private access overlooking the garden. Private access.

Queen Room
Large sunny queen room with private balcony overlooking the garden with additional single bed if required. This room has a large private bathroom (bath only) and separate toilet/handbasin.

Twin Room
For those traveling with families, a very pretty twin room is available for children in conjunction with the Queen Room and sharing the private bathroom and separate toilet.

GUEST SERVICES:
Guests will be offered refreshments upon arrival, and are welcome to join us for tea/coffee at any time.

A special continental breakfast with seasonal fresh fruits, cereals/fruit/muffins/toast is served in the elegant dining room with French windows overlooking the garden. During summer breakfast may be served on the verandah outside the dining room. Guests are welcome to relax in the family lounge, conservatory or just enjoy the large garden and park-like grounds outside.

Check in time is between 4.30pm and 7.30 pm but please advise us your estimated time of arrival so we can be available to welcome you. Check out time is 10.00am unless pre-arranged. Breakfast times will be by arrangement but are usually between 8 am and 9 am.

DIRECTIONS:
Kaipaki Road runs from the Cambridge-Te Awamutu Road to the Hamilton-Te Awamutu Road (known as Ohaupo Road or SH 3). Glengariff is situated 2.35 km from SH 3 or 11 km from the Cambridge-Te Awamutu Road. There is a sign at the gate and the house is set 700 metres off the road down a long driveway. Only 6 minutes from Hamilton Airport, 10 minutes from Cambridge and 15 minutes from Hamilton or Te Awamutu. </i>
