Dualla House
Situated is on a working 300 acre sheep and grain farm run by the Power family. Visitors will find it an easy clean and safe place to walk around and we are only too happy to tell our guests about our farming operation.

Dualla house was built by William Scully in 1790's. He was a member of the well known Scully family of South Tipperary. His son John inherited the property. He married Catherine Moore, a sister of Thomas Moore, poet in 1811. Family tradition says that it was at Dualla that he composed "The last rose of Summer" while on a visit.

The Scully family are buried at the Rock of Cashel, the monument is visible from the town of Cashel as the remains of a high cross within the walls of the Rock itself.

Dualla House is built on an elevated site approached by a 700 metre avenue and has great views of the rolling countryside of this part of the Golden Vale. Slievenamon, the Comeraghs, Knockmealdown and the Galtee Mountain Range can be seen from Dualla House.

When we arrived we were greeted by the sheep. They ran to meet us and welcomed us. When we got to the house, we were shown our rooms - which were wonderful - and then invited for tea in the library. A fire was set and the tea was wonderful. A great way to spend a rainy afternoon. Our hosts were there to answer questions and suggest places to eat and visit. The home and grounds were fabulous. We would definitely stay there again!
