This parcel of land was given to the United Empire Loyalists and has been in the John Slack family for nearly a century. The north side of the land was sold in 1972, and currently awaits construction of Estate Residential Homes. The original homestead sits on 45 acres which can be enjoyed during walks to the St. Lawrence River.
The natural narrow passage of waterway between the islands and the mainland, named “Molly’s Gut”, has been the delight of many artists, photographers and boaters alike. Misty Pines House is situated on the most western part of the Slack land, facing County Road 2.
