Hearts Content Bed And Breakfast, Charlottetown

Built in 1860 and overlooking the lovely tree-lined park on Hillsborough Square in the heart of historic Charlottetown PEI, our bed and breakfast home has been slowly restored since 1990 as Joan’s personal project. The four upstairs bedrooms (named after the four seasons) are decorated in country Victorian style. All are cosily carpeted, quaint and generous in size with their own individual locks. The 2 bathrooms have modern showers and the original clawfoot tubs for soaking in. The guest kitchen offers you a fridge and a place to make yourself a “cuppa” before you put your feet up and relax with a book in the Lothian Library or in front of the TV/VCR in the Victorian parlour.

At breakfast as you tuck into cereal or oatmeal, muffins or scones, toast, coffee, tea or juice you may become acquainted with guests from all over the world – the conversations are known to make people linger longer than intended. You can also enjoy the quiet of the garden and deck or have a snooze on the swing. You’ll get lots of advice on what to do and see so you’ll make full use of every moment. The room diaries written by previous guests will entertain you and clue you in about what to do and where to go. All the best boutiques, restaurants and important historic buildings are in the neighbourhood - the legendary Old Dublin Pub is just up the street.

Guests have free use of the phone, there is safe parking on the street and a garage for bicycles. You will have your own keys so you can come and go as you please. Clocks are hard to find at Heart’s Content Bed and Breakfast, so slow down and stay for a few days - the weekly rates are so reasonable and there is no extra charge for service in French, a history lesson on PEI or for Joan’s Scottish hospitality. No where on the Island is very far from Heart’s Content Bed and Breakfast. It’s a great place to stay in Charlottetown.
