A friend and I decided we would share a girl-friends get-away. We checked into Amma's House on on a wintry Friday eve. It had just begun to snow. In an hour, we could not see the road. The winds howled around us as the snow piled up. We were toasty warm and insulated inside Amma's. Too comfy to worry, we had our food we brought with us. We made good use of the cooking utensils provided, watched movies, talked for hours, ate some more and when we were ready, luxuriated under the handmade quilts. I slept in what I like to call the Presidential room. It's where the President of Iceland stayed on a visit to the community. Two glorious days later, we looked out to see the sun beaming and warming the road, leaving it perfectly safe to travel to our respective homes, feeling completely refreshed. Thanks to Amma's hosts Eric and Karen for allowing us the opportunity to enjoy the warmth and charm Amma's House offers.
