Built in 1881 by one of the many merchants who prospered during the early days of the Brisbane colony.
Catherine House offered charm and comfort as well as proximity to the bustling city expanding from the banks of the Brisbane river.

Situated on high ground to gain the coastal breezes, Catherine House was spared the ravages of the many floods that claimed so much of Brisbane’s early heritage.

Catherine House is an excellent example of Victorian architecture adapted to the tropical climate of South East Queensland, and is one of the longest running B&Bs in Brisbane.

Catherine House is located on the edge of the QUT Kelvin Grove Campus, and a stone's throw from the new La Boite Roundhouse Theatre in the Kelvin Grove Urban Village.

Suncorp Stadium is a pleasant 10 min walk (1.5km), the CBD is just 2 km away reached via the spectacular Roma Street gardens, and South Bank is just 2.5 km away on the other side of Brisbane river. Equally accessible are the cafes restaurants and boutique shops of Paddington, Red Hill and the Brisbane City centre.

Catherine House is popular with visitors to QUT Kelvin Grove Campus, and the University of Queensland at St Lucia is a short ride away by taxi/bus.
